WEEK 7 - NORTH LAUREL
Cardinal fans….
Learning to rebound from an ugly loss is one of the hardest lessons a football team has to learn. Losses can be devastating to a team‘s confidence, and their ability to play at their highest level in future games. The worst thing a team can do, is allow the same team to beat them two weeks in a row. We have to put off the devastation of the loss, and work forward to the next opponent, and the next challenge.
Rivalry games are a special spark to the football season. There is always a team on your schedule, that you would rather beat than all the rest of them. For the folks at South Laurel, it’s North Laurel. The Jaguars have dominated this series for a long long time. it’s a special challenge for our Cardinals, to put away the loss from last week, and get re-energized to take on their most hated rival. It adds an extra spark, because it’s also a district opponent. To make the playoffs a team must win some district games. it will always be one of our three goals as a program:
1) City Champs
2) Winning Season
3) Playoffs
These are hanging on the wall in our locker room. And these will always be the goals of every Cardinal team to come.
Come on out to Gilliam Stadium on Friday night, and let’s go hunt…..
