WEEK 9 - SOUTHWESTERN PULASKI
“In the deep dark hills of eastern Kentucky…”
Traveling down to Harlan County and playing the “Black Bears” is a tough trip. We’re awful proud of our young team for the big win this past Friday. That win puts us no worse than 3rd place in our district, and guarantees us a spot in the play off picture. I’m really proud of the way our team is growing up. We’re learning how to win on the road, play with great intensity throughout the game, and believe in one another, even when the game doesn’t go well, especially early on. The team is showing a lot of confidence in each other, and understanding that we can be a really good team, when we put it all together.
However, we are still a work in progress. There are many things we can improve on. We continue to practice fundamentals each week and continue to get better each and every day. Our goal is simply to achieve our potential as a football team. And we believe there is quite a bit of potent potential to uncover.
This week’s opponent is our last district game, against the ”Warriors” of Southwestern. Again, we must go on the road, and overcome all the adversity that goes with playing in a stadium full of people cheering for you to lose. However, a win this week, would assure us of a home playoff game in the first round. Now there’s something to dream about!!!
Plan on making the trip with us as we travel to Southwestern High School Friday night to take on the Warriors. We need a “loud and rowdy” crowd to be on the visitors side in the Reservation. Let’s go #Hunting
