OPEN WEEK

 An open week during your football season, just means it’s a Friday night, where we do not have a game to play. It becomes an opportunity for us to get back to some fundamentals, basics, and have some “spring practice” type practices.

We have completed our district schedule, although we have one more game to play to finish out the regular season. We have finished in third place in our district, which puts us into the playoff picture the second week of November.

It’s been a very exciting season, and one I’m sure we won’t soon forget. However, there’s much more ahead of us. Even coming off of tough loss, our players feel like we have much more to accomplish. As we go into the open week, we are sitting at 5-3, with a chance to finish out the regular season with a win over Harlan High in our last game. Then it’s on to the playoff run.

As a number 3 seed, we have to travel for the 1st round playoff game. We will play whoever finishes as the number 2 seed in our neighboring district. The Lexington area district. The four teams that will be in the playoffs from that district are:

Madison Southern

Montgomery County

East Jessamine

West Jessamine

Get ready Cardinal Nation, to make the trip to one of those four places when we begin our playoff run here in a couple weeks…
