PLAYOFFS VS MADISON SOUTHERN

Well Cardinals. The regular season has concluded. It’s time for the playoffs…..

The Cardinals have finished the regular season at 6 wins and 3 losses. We finished with a 3rd place position within our district. The top 4 teams in each district across the state, go to the playoffs. As a number 3 - seed, we have to travel to play the number 2 - seed in our opposing district. That team is the “Eagles” of Madison Southern.

The Eagles have finished their regular season with a record of 4 wins and 6 losses. The wins were over Henry Clay, Mercer County, East Jessmine, and West Jessmine.  Losses came to Great Crossing, Tates Creek, Madison Central, Wayne County, Montgomery County, and Whitley County this past Friday night.

The Eagles of Madison Southern had one of the greatest players that ever played in Kentucky high school football history. Damian Harris was an All-State Player, and an ESPN High School All-American at Southern, and went on to play for the University of Alabama under the legendary coach Nick Saban. Damian played on 2 National Championship Teams at Alabama, and then was drafted into the NFL where he played as a teammate with the legendary QB Tom Brady, and for the legendary coach Bill Belichick, with the New England Patriots. The “Eagles”also made it all the way to the class 5A State Championship game in 2017.

It’s gonna be an exciting night Friday, so make the trip with us to Berea for some Playoff football, and see if the Cardinals can pull off a little history of their own. The Cards haven’t won a playoff game since… Well,…. A long, long time ago…..
